Can trans-cerebellar diameter supersede other fetal biometry in measuring gestational age? A prospective study

چکیده

Abstract Background Estimation of gestational age plays a pivotal role in day to clinical practice for appropriate management newborn. The trans-cerebellar diameter can predict cases variations fetal head shape such as dolichocephaly and brachycephaly or even when fetus is posterior position. Trans-cerebellar (TCD) may be useful estimation. Aim methodology To determine the accuracy estimation comparing conventional parameters like circumference, biparietal diameter, abdominal circumference femur length measurement age. This prospective, cross-sectional analytical study done Radiology Department those patients who were referred department routine antenatal ultra-sonogram checkup. Results Comparison with derived from last menstrual period indicates that there linear relationship throughout ages. There strong correlation other namely which Femur correlates well diameter. Correlation transcerebellar shows R 2 0.995 ( p value < 0.001). Conclusion best compared circumference. regression formula applied fetus.

Use of fetal biometry in the assessment of gestational age in South East Nigeria: Femur length and biparietal diameter.

BACKGROUND Fetal growth is influenced by many factors such as race, socioeconomic status, genetics, geographical location, maternal diseases, and number of babies. Consequent upon these, fetal growth charts may vary from one location to another even within the same geographical entity. OBJECTIVE This study was designed to establish the fetal growth chart in antenatal women who had ultrasound ...

Prediction of small-for-gestational-age neonates: screening by fetal biometry at 19-24 weeks.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of fetal biometry at 19-24 weeks' gestation in the prediction of delivery of small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonates, in the absence of pre-eclampsia (PE), and examine the potential value of such assessment in deciding whether the third-trimester scan should be at 32 and/or 36 weeks' gestation. METHODS This was a screening study in 88,187 singleton pregnanc...

Simple mathematical formulae for estimation of median values of fetal biometry at each gestational age

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to propose simple mathematical formulae to estimate median values of fetal biometry including biparietal diameter (BPD), abdominal circumference (AC) and femur length (FL) at each gestational age (GA) easily without looking up the previously established reference values. METHODS Simple mathematical formulae to estimate median values of fetal biometric value...

OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of fetal biometry at 30-34 weeks' gestation in the prediction of delivery of small-for-gestational-age (SGA) neonates, in the absence of pre-eclampsia (PE). METHODS This was a screening study in 30 849 singleton pregnancies at 30-34 weeks' gestation, comprising 1727 that delivered SGA neonates with a birth weight < 5(th) percentile and 29 122 cases unaffecte...
